Hi << Test First Name >>,
LIMCAF ENTRIES SURGE!

LIMCAF 2023 BREAKS ALL RECORDS!
FIVE ADDITIONAL REGIONAL CENTRES TO BE CREATED IN
KADUNA, TARABA, OGUN, IMO AND ANAMBRA STATES!
ENTRIES
At the close of entries on May 31, 2023, a total of 567 entries were received for 2023 edition of the Life In My City Art Festival (LIMCAF). All participanting artists have been notified of the receipt of their entries.

According to Art Director, Dr. Ayo Adewunmi, "Of this number, a total of 198 works or 35% were submitted by females. Both, the overall number of  567, and the 198 works submitted by females, represent the highest number of entries ever received in any one year of LIMCAF's 17 years of existence.

Other details about the entries including the full list and total number of entries from each region and state as well as the details of gender and ages of participants, will be in our next newsletter and on our website.

Dr. Adewunmi said that as a result of this great increase in the number and spread of entries across the country, LIMCAF will have Regional Centres in 13 States, in addition to the FCT this year, including Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo, Rivers, Kaduna, Taraba, Owerri, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, and Enugu." Therefore, there will be an unprecedented total number of 14 regional exhibitions this year.
REGIONAL EXHIBITIONS
Dr. Adewunmi explained that the regional exhibitions are the main plank of our effort to bring art closer to the grassroots in all parts of the country. LIMCAF's ultimate aim is to reach all parts of the country to identify and encourage young persons who have potential and interest. Beginning from this year LIMCAF will be making special effort to increase the number of female participants and specially  reach and help young persons with disability.

The regional exhibitions also set the stage for the second  stage of the competition which is the selection of works that qualify for the Grand Finale Exhibition in Enugu in October.

The Grand Finale Exhibition is the third and final state of the competition during which the National Jury Panel will select the year's prize winners. That exhibition will also be hybrid with the live exhibition in Enugu and a virtual gallery online. Details will be contained in future newsletters.

For now, the first of the regional exhibitions will begin on the Sunday, 9th of July in Ibadan, Oyo State (please see the attached flyer) and end with the opening of the Port Harcourt event on the 12th of August at the Alliance Francaise, Orogbum.

Applicants whose works are selected from the online entries and who therefore qualify for the regional exhibitions are being notified and invited to submit actual works to the Exhibition Center nearest to them.

WORKSHOPS
The first of the LIMCAF special workshops for 2023 holds on the 14th and 15th July in Enugu, at the Alliance Fracaise, 40 Neni Street Ogui New Layout. This is the first of its kind in these parts and LIMCAF is very proud to announce inaugural ART WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG PERSONS WITH DISABILITY.

For this workshop and other events as will be announced later, even as we will make a special effort to reach everybody directly, please consider this newsletter an open invitation to attend.
